This site chronicles the creation of my first scratch-built MAME arcade machine in the fall of 2003. I sold it in the fall of 2008 so that I could make room for a new machine I am planning.
MAME is a PC program that runs all the great old video arcade games you remember from the 80’s and ’90’s, and today. A MAME Cabinet (‘cab’ for short) is a home-built arcade machine that holds a PC and usually looks outwardly like a genuine arcade game. Here’s what I built:
